Most of our CATs are based on reports of single elements of the published literature, and thus they may not be representative of the entire body of evidence. The useful life of individual CATs may also be short as newer, better evidence becomes available over time.

Prior to posting CATs on this website we make every effort to subject them to peer review and to keep them up-to-date through our Journal Club. However, we cannot guarantee their accuracy and timeliness. While one piece of critically appraised evidence is better than none, in clinical practice the CATs on this website should not be taken as substitutes for advice from a responsible healthcare provider.
