Welcome to Birmingham Women's Hospital

We are a centre of excellence for specialist healthcare for women and their families in the West Midlands. Established in 1968, we are proud to be one of only two Trusts in the country dedicated to women’s healthcare.

We provide a full range of gynaecological, maternity and neonatal care. Our Assisted Conception Unit is one of the most successful in the UK and our Fetal Medicine Centre provides care to patients throughout the region and across the country. We are proud to be the home of the West Midlands Regional Genetics Service. We host the National Genetics Education Centre, the West Midlands Cancer Intelligence Unit and the West Midlands Public Health Observatory.

Our aim is to be a leading provider of local, regional and national importance. Our priority is to contribute to the health and well being of the people we serve.

There will be significant changes to the way you access the Women's Hospital Site from 16th June 2010, when the new Accident and Emergency Department opens at the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Access to Hospital
The only access from Metchley Lane will be for staff parking in Car Park F or for people dropping off and picking up children at the Busy Bees Nursery. The site can still be accessed from the Harborne end of Metchley Park Road by the Women's Hospital.

Patients, visitors and staff not parking in Car Park F will need to access the hospitals from the south of the site off New Fosse Way (Selly Oak Link Road) and pick up Mindelsohn Way/Hospital Way, the new hospital loop road, to reach other car parks and the old QE site.
