We employ over 1,500 staff and in the last year we delivered over 7,000 babies. Our waiting times are low and we are proud to have reported no cases of MRSA bacteraemia and Clostridium Difficile in the past seven years. This year, we have been awarded an Annual Health Check rating from the Care Quality Commission of ‘Good’ for Quality of Services (clinical and non-clinical) and ‘Excellent’ for Financial Management. The Trust has also received 'Excellent' results for the 2009 PEAT (patient environment action team) Inspection with excellent ratings for cleanliness, food and privacy & dignity.
Privacy and Dignity
Declaration of Compliance
Every patient has the right to receive high quality care that is safe, effective and respects their privacy and dignity. Birmingham Women's NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing every patient with same sex accommodation, because it helps to safeguard their privacy and dignity when they are often at their most vulnerable.
We are proud to confirm that mixed sex accommodation has been eliminated in our trust. Patients who are admitted to any of our hospitals will only share the room where they sleep with members of the same sex, and same sex toilets and bathrooms will be close to their bed area.
The Trust has always had a proud reputation in delivering services that offer single sex occupancy. Following investment in our assisted conception unit, where day case patients previously shared a recovery area, there are now two separate areas for women and men. Consequently we are able to confirm that mixed sex accommodation has been completely eliminated in our organisation.
