Purpose of the Scheme

Social Education
Through the work experience placement, we hope that students will be able to see and experience the relationship between employee and other employees, employees and supervisors and employees and management. We firmly believe that work experience within the Trust, can lay the foundations of understanding the aims and objectives of industry and commerce.

Relevance to School/College/University Subjects
Work experience can help you to appreciate that the subjects taught in school/college/university are relevant to the needs of Industry and commerce. We hope that our scheme will be able to provide you with the opportunity to understand the importance of having a wide variety of different skills, combined with a good education and qualifications are important factors of working within the Trust.

Self Development
We hope that the experience of having coped with the problems presented by working within the Trusts environment will help you to attain a greater understanding, self confidence, self reliance and maturity

Foretaste of Employment / Help in Career Choice
Work experience within the Trust has been designed to help give you a taste of Hospital life.  With a wide variety of clinical and non clinical placements, we hope that the experience will give the opportunity to get an idea of the different careers available, allow you to gain experience within your chosen profession, or even help you decide whether a certain career is right for you!
