Therefore, when you are visiting, please:
- Clean your hands using soap and water or alcohol hand gel on entering and before leaving the ward/department.
- Always wash your hands with soap and dry thoroughly if you use a visitor’s toilet.
- Please do not touch a patient’s drip or wound even if you have washed your hands.
- Please do not sit or lie on patient beds, use the chairs provided.
- Please ask advice from ward staff before visiting a relative if you feel unwell or you have recently had contact with someone with an infection.
- If you have or have had diarrhoea or vomiting please do not visit until you have been free of symptoms for 48 hours.
- Always ask advice prior to bringing in food items, in line with Food Hygiene policy, food items brought into the hospital cannot be reheated.
