Delivery Suite

We would like to wish you a warm welcome to our delivery suite. Our friendly unit is staffed by midwives and doctors who work closely together to provide your care. We are a large unit and have particular expertise in the care of women who have problems. These problems include: those picked up during pregnancy with either you or your baby or we have identified that there could be a problem around the time of the birth.

Although we are a large unit, we have a warm environment and we work very hard to  ensure that women are cared for as individuals.  We would like to give reassure that you will be in safe hands with us and we will support you and your family to have a positive birth experience.

We encourage women without a problem to go to our birth centre. However, if the birth centre is not your preferred choice, or we have identified a problem from either: your history, during your pregnancy or on arrival, then our delivery suite will be the safest place for you to receive your care

You will usually have arrived on delivery suite from either:

Triage

From the antenatal ward

Transferred to us from the birth centre

For an elective caesarean section
