My main research interests are systematic reviews and randomised controlled trials.

• Until recently, I was actively involved in recruiting patients in various ongoing medical and surgical multicentre studies from our department such as the RELAX (Botox versus placebo in idiopathic detrusor overactivity), CARPET(colposuspension versus anterior vaginal repair with TVT in stress incontinence withcystocele) and the Bulkamid bladder neck injection study.

• As WellBeing Research Fellow, I coordinated a multicentre double blind randomised trial on laparoscopic uterosacral nerve ablation in chronic pelvic pain which is now completed (September 2002-2004). In addition, I gained experience in conducting systematic reviews of prevalence, aetiology and effectiveness. I have been awarded MD on “Chronic pelvic pain: prevalence, aetiology and LUNA” by Birmingham University (July 2006).

• "A comparative study of intracervical PGE2 gel with intravenous oxytocin in the induction of labour"- I conducted this prospective randomised trial during my postgraduate training in India (1994-1997) and wrote it up as a dissertation for MD and MRCOG.

• I am now actively involved in supervising trainees with their research projects from conception of idea to providing guidance on methodology, statistics and writing up a manuscript.
