This website has been created with the involvement of medical staff and patient groups throughout. It was created in response to Government requirements for improvements in information available to patients. It is hoped that such information will help patients to understand their illness and become more involved in treatment decisions. It also includes a support group search and an A-Z of illnesses.

Health research is done with patients and other volunteers. CERES supports both new and widely-used medical techniques being tested, to see if they are safe and effective. CERES works to help the voices of patients and research subjects to be heard more clearly.

INVOLVE aims to ensure that public involvement in Research and Development in the NHS, public health and social care improves the way that:

  • decisions are made about what should be a priority for research
  • research is commissioned (chosen and funded)
  • research is carried out
  • research findings are communicated
